My dog and I really like Bryan Johnston Park, despite it's high school gym teacherish name. There's plenty of room to walk with him, and I can even let him off the leash sometimes because the park isn't ever too crowded. The park is kind enough to provide poop bags (for dogs not people), which is great because Peter makes 3 to 4 doodies just about everytime we're there.
A lot of people bring their dogs there, which is nice for Peter because he loves to socialize. With the exception of a few regulars, just about everyone seems down for doggy to doggy socialization.
The only downside to this park is that there are some people who don't bother to pick up after their dogs. This blows me away because it's so rude and the park provides bags to make it as easy as possible. If I catch these people, I will shame them into submission.
