Starting my research knowing only that an arrest had been made, I scheduled several consultations. Michael call me back quickly and took his time answering all my questions clearly and completely.
While explaining things to me, he stopped himself saying he "wanted to look into something" and would call me back. Surprised enough when he called back less than hour later, I was astonished to learn that in that short timeframe, he had asked someone from his staff to look into the case and had a complete rundown of everything I needed to know up to that point, and everything I could expect from there - all at no cost!
He went on to explain why we may not even need to hire attorney for this particular case, but after hearing my concerns about possible ICE raids outside the courthouse, he quoted me a retainer fee that was roughly half the cost of the next lowest bid. Needless to say I hired Wegman & Levin.
Things went smoothly from there with my loved one's case ultimately resulting in no charges being filed. While this was the best result possible in this instance, it's still not the most amazing thing to have happened while working with Wegman & Levin.
Having previously been the victim of several violent crimes, this same loved one could not locate the police report for years making it impossible for them to receive various services and other benefits typically afforded to those in similar circumstances and necessary in their particular situation. Nevertheless, Wegman & Levin was able to help by first identifying that the report was made through the Sherrif's office as opposed to the police department, and made a formal request for records from the Sheriff's office before securing the elusive police report document on our behalf and at no additional expense.
While it may sound simple, this one document effectively changed the course of this person's entire life making it possible for them to stay in the country, raise their kids, keep their family in tact, and make their life more affordable.
