Mr. Haberer was assigned to my son's case by the state. So I know he did not do everything he could for my son. He went to the jail maybe 4 times to see my son in 18 months. When I asked why he didn't see my son more often to discuss his case, he told me "because I have to sit in the heat and wait to see him".
He would very seldom return my calls or take my son's calls. I feel that had if I had been paying him instead of the state he would have represented my son better.
Mr. Haberer even told me in a phone conversation, " we both know he's guilty, if not of this then there are other crimes he hasn't been caught at". I asked my son several times to fire him, Mr. Haberer even asked me to tell my son to fire him.
My son ended up pleading out and received 25 yrs for 3 burglary charges, that was proven plus life for a torcher charge that was never proven because his attorney and the prosecutor told him this was the best he could get, and that he could get paroled in 14 yrs. Since then we have found out different. My son may never get out of prison because of the life charge.
He never had a chance with the attorney he had.
Just my opinion.
