It’s truly terrifying when you find yourself on the wrong side of any power dynamic, faced with the hope-ending realization that being right by every reasonable measure (morally, legally) guarantees you absolutely nothing. It’s the only kind of growth I’ve encountered in my life that has the potential to make you smaller—into a more petty, more distrusting, and more paranoid human being.I can’t imagine it’s easy for Aidin to be tasked with fixing this level of injustice or to have every aspect of his job performance be so immensely consequential in the lives of his clients. (Better not take a sick day!) But if that’s the case, you wouldn’t know it.I’ve met very few people as competent, communicative, professional, reasonable, and driven by a sincere dedication to others (=no loopholes or small print). He, somehow, was able to do what four oversight boards (whose rulings, despite all being in my favor, lacked any meaningful enforcement) and multiple intermediaries could not.Above all else, he is a decent human being who picks his cases thoughtfully and sees them through to the very end.I am grateful 🙏
