Do not use this firm. My attorney had no idea why she was even there. While we were in the court house, she leaned over and asked me this. After confronting this situation with her supervisor, she lies to him and stated she never said this and then dropped my case. I wasted my complete retainer. This firm is dishonest, and they will lie to steal your money. Come to find out they are known for this kind of conduct and have a swinging door when it comes to retaining attorneys. Again, if you want to give someone your money, I would choose a charity verse giving this firm anything. This business needs to be shut down for their lack of professionalism, along with other issues. I know that after I leave this review, they will come on here to give a ridiculous explanation as to why, but nothing states is correct or the truth. This firm is not honest at all and will steal your money while giving you a false sense of hope.

Terrible. Did nothing for me in a multi state custodial despute. Would send me little bills for NOTHING and charge me. Total SCAM. Stay away!!! Huge lawyer group based out of state that will steal any desperate Mother's money. Hasn't been my lawyer in 5 years/case is closed. STILL sending me multiple spam emails and day stating I owe money to the trust account. BBB needs to look into this company.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. Put a retainer for $2000 down for them to update a parenting plan for me. Months went by with little contact and then all of a sudden I get a invoice stating they blew through the 2k and I owed a balance. Looked at the invoice, nothing but a bunch of "conferences" between my attorney and his supervisor. So for a total of $3000.00 I got a peice of paper. Also got told that their assistant would do most of the work at a cheaper rate and my attorney would only step in when needed, also a lie. All thebwork done was charged under his rate, and no one could answer why they are so many conferences for a simple parenting plan update. I paid less than this for several apparences with my previous attorney. Would not recommend to anyone unless you like wasting thousands of dollars.

Zoe was the best. She handled herself in the most professional manner. She communicate on a regular basis and files paper work with the courts in timely manner almost immediately. She shares her opinion and truly makes you feel as a client that your in good hands with her and the firm. Stange Law Firm is the best and most professional law firm a person can u ask for and seek for legal representation.

I was very sad to hear that my lawyer Zoe Arthurson-McColl is leaving the firm. She made me feel comfortable during tough decisions, and walked me through my case very thoroughly, and she made sure I understood everything that was happening. I am extremely happy for her, and I hope nothing but the best on her next life endeavors. Thank you for all you have done for me Zoe!! I appreciate you.

**March 2024 update: Gather round everyone coz the word of the day is "babysitting!" See this all started last year when a receptionist at the Springfield office misplaced some of the important documents I personally handed in that my attorney was waiting for in Bloomington. Few weeks later I get a call asking where they were, causing massive delays along with a lecture on how I should've followed up... that's when I nominated myself as babysitter and since they're going to side with their team members across the board, naturally the finger pointing and accusations began. So, being the heartfelt understanding person I am, I went back to the same receptionist in Springfield and basically had to tell her how to do her job as I watched her every step of the way and even had her call to confirm the receipt. Bless her heart it was a success! So happy for the new accomplishment. November 2023 was my last hearing and the very last time I spoke to my attorney ending the conversation with a fake handshake and a big fat thx for nothing because that's exactly what he did after draining my credit card with the fees I mentioned below that will remain in default since I have no plans on ever paying a dime on. And ya wonder why interest rates are sky high. Sorry not sorry. Another month goes by and I'm still seeing charges come through so I call in and ask what on earth are you charging me if this was over in November? They're response was that I had to make a request to actually close out the file, so while I had her on the line I went ahead and did just that... made a simple request to close out the file and asked when the remaining balance in the trust fund account was gonna be mailed to me, their response was 4-6 weeks. Here we are 6 weeks goes by and I just decided to check up on things coz you know, I've been having to babysit full grown working adults these days....the lady on the phone gives me an actual date of when the check was mailed, I kindly help her with a simple math correction and explain how I should've seen the check by now so I get transferred to the department that handles that sorta thing resulting in a number of unreturned messages being left. After bouncing around for days with no response, I finally was able to reach someone that expressed to me the file hasn't actually been closed out yet so I was transferred again and left another message. After still not hearing anything from anyone I decided to call everyday twice a day until someone at this elementary 3 ring circus JOKE of a company that supposedly has been in business for X amount of years can give me a straight answer. I'll be updating my progress periodically so stay tuned! *Original post: Guess how much a child support modification should cost fellas? ZILCH! Guess how much it ended up costing me...$13k! Allow me to explain this nonsense before you move forward...all you need is proof of income and I don't even think you really need that cuz guess who already knows how much you make before you walk in the courtroom? The state duh! Interested in knowing why it cost so much? It's called unnecessary leg work! Phone calls, conversations, email, paperwork, verifications, correspondences, signatures, faxing, filing, research, meetings, preparing, planning, rehearsing, etc etc etc. You know why I know this? The briefcase chalked full of ammo that my lawyer used to fuel my hopes for the hearing just sat there. The state already had everyone's income with them and made the modification based solely on those figures in less than 5 minutes when it took 2 unnecessary months of back and forth BS with my attorney. One hell of a lucrative scam if you ask me. Don't even bother. All you gotta do is put in a modification request with the state and they handle the rest. You think they would share that little bit of info with me, nope. They took advantage of an opportunity cuz I didn't know any better and ROYALLY milked it.

I worked with attorney Chuk Okereke at Stange Law Firm on my child custody case. He was hands down the best attorney I have ever worked with. He went above and beyond to communicate with me and talk through all possible scenarios and resolutions. I have worked with three other attorneys in the past and always felt ignored when I reached out with questions. This was never the case with Chuk. He also ensured that my rights were being protected even when I was unsure how to interpret things being brought against me. I highly recommend Chuk and Stange Law Firm for any family law matters!

Do not hire this law firm. I had a simple case to amend a Qdro that required a court date. They never attempted to get a court date and they charged every month for strategy meetings on how to move forward. The client care department said my case should have been put on hold until the courts opened for hearings again , because of the pandemic. The first attorney charged for acquiring documents that I had already provided and said I had a strong case. He was fired or quit after about 11 months and was replaced by another. One of the partners of the firm said there wouldn’t be any charge for the second attorney to take over the case then I received a bill for over $2,000.00. He proceeded to send out for the same documents the first attorney was already paid to acquire and I was charged a second time. Then he told me I didn’t have a case. After all of this the second attorney quit so they wanted to assign a third attorney to me. I told them I couldn’t afford to keep paying people to gather documents and never get to court. Client care is a department that doesn’t do anything except agree with the client that the case was mishandled. They don’t ever try to correct the problem. They constantly say that I signed a contract , and yes I did , but , shouldn’t they have to uphold their end of the agreement ? This firm charged over $11,000.00 and never did more than shuffle a few papers. Try to find a smaller firm that might have one honest attorney working that will actually try to do what’s best for their clients instead of what is best for their wallets.
