Thankfully, there are professionals, like Mary (and all the other wonderful humans at Maring Williams), that do. Having support from an expert who truly cares was a gift in and of itself. Mary took the time to get to know me and my family, checked in often, updated me appropriately, and served as an incredible advocate throughout the whole settlement process.
