Our landlord hired this office after attempting to remove us from the rental home which we had a previous agreement with the husband, who committed suicide a few months after we moved in. The wife had moved in with another man in July, after thirty years of marriage, without warning, and abandoned her husband who was a 67 year old veteran, without warning, along with four animals on their 9 acre property. Our rental agreement was made after the Ms. Owensby's client had vacated the home, months prior to our tenancy.
We filed a counterclaim on the eviction due to the violent measure during the attempt to remove us from the unit without providing proper notice, and Ms. Owensby failed to review the documentation related to all facts of this case on more then one occasion. Once an agreement was made that she advised her client accepted, she prepared and presented the paperwork to the Court. She took advantage of the fact we were self represented, and the agreement was not a reflection of what was agreed to per the emails that was agreed to. She then refused to reply to calls or messages regarding the funds her client was ordered to pay per the Judge, and refuses to release payment. She insulted us on several occasions, in emails, and gave advice to her client that has resulted in another legal matter as a result. She was very rude, disrespectful, sloppy, unprofessional, and does not have the best interest of her clients at heart obviously. She sent her husband to deliver paperwork to our home after she was aware her client and family were in process of receiving a restraining order for the 6 seperate times the police had to be called to the rental for harrassment.
Having worked for attorneys, I have seen some unprofessional behavior, but this blows away anything I have seen this far. Formal complaints have been filed with the Georgia Bar, and I will update a link to the youtube video in a few hours that confirms these detail. Shame on you!
