Update: after months of no contact & telling her I will be forced to file a complaint with the CA Bar & do what I needed to get money paid refunded...she finally responded & finished the job & finally sent documents in for recording( months after she said she was going to send them in to record). This is not how things should have happened. It is an attorney's responsibility to keep in touch , & keep the client informed, as well as doing things in a timely manner etc... So, unless you want more stress added to your life during an already stressful time, I suggest finding a different attorney. Get personal references from someone who used an attorney recently that they were happy with. I have had conversations with two others who had a similar experience as mine..(unfortunately I did not see their negative reviews until after I had already hired her & then had issues with Ms Holt & starting searching more on different sites for reviews) except she NEVER finished the job for them. It cost them a lot of time & money & they had to start over with a new attorney...so I was not the first to have this experience. So even though she technically did finish the job I hired her to do, it was a stressful mess I would not want to deal with again. Note the positive reviews are many years old,.
