When we first received a letter, we thought that it was a scam, I contacted the insurance company that had hired them to find out that it was true. My insurance company didn’t seem to know anything about the subrogation beforehand… So the miscommunication between insurance companies as a whole is already concerning. When I called to talk to someone, I was asking for an itemized breakdown to see why I was being charged $18,000.
The lady that I spoke with was completely an entirely disrespectful, my insurance had already accepted liability and said that they were going to cover the accident, but apparently the other party involved in the accident. His insurance company didn’t seem to want to wait for an answer, so give it about two weeks before hiring this company to go forward with subrogation. The lady I spoke with even though I had stated that I have insurance that is going to cover it, talked to me like I was absolute trash. She told me that they filed to suspend my drivers license on November 18 but the letter which was the initial letter was drafted to me on November 19 And I even asked her “so you mean to tell me you filed to suspend my license a full 24 hours before you even drafted the letter to notify me that there is a claim?” I made her verify that three different times on that phone call and then she stated “this is what happens when you don’t have insurance“ I can’t tell you how many times I had stated I had full coverage insurance and that my insurance has already accepted liability and has been trying to pay this out to no avail. Either way I finally got in touch with someone who would listen who then transferred me to the insurance department at the law firm and I spoke directly to them to let them know the policy number, as well as the claim number of my insurance that was going to cover the amount that they were hired to retrieve… I spoke with the law firm November 23. Today is December 30 and we have yet another letter dated December 19, saying that we still have an outstanding balance, even though we have provided the insurance policy and claim number that has already accepted liability to cover this, there is no subrogation. There’s just a bunch of people at this law firm that doesn’t know how to do their jobs… my claims agent has attempted to reach out to the representative that is over my case at this law firm and has not been able to get in touch with her, but the insurance department here assured me that they would get in contact with my insurance, it seems that’s a lie because it’s been a month and we’re still not at the beginning of the process to settling the subrogation claim… I shouldn’t be getting any litter saying that I owe an outstanding balance when I have provided everything that I needed to provide and I dang sure shouldn’t be getting talked down to by an agent who doesn’t know me, I stated that I had insurance so the last thing that I needed some little girl to do is say this is what happens when you don’t have insurance and try to use scare tactics by telling me she filed to have my drivers license suspended. Lol this law firm is just looking to get multiple cases smacked against them for federal suits.
So just be made aware, if you have to deal with this law firm, it is a long headache and they will not do their jobs so you’re going to have to jump through hoops to make sure that everything gets settled before you get taken to court and have to pay unnecessary fees over a Low ball, bottom of the totem pole law firm. This is overly ridiculous to have anyone deal with, but it’s been a month, get your shit together and do your job.
