If I could give no stars I would! My son was in a car accident in Feb. of 2017 & we immediately contacted Melissa Matsanaka to see if she could handle his injury claim. She met with us shortly after the accident for about 20 minutes. She said it would take a while to get everything in order since my son had ongoing medical issues (which I understood). She also told us NOT to run any medical services through our health insurance as they would be part of our settlement request. This I later learned from our new attorney was completely inaccurate. So we plodded along for over nine months. My son got sent to collections for over 16,000 dollars in medical bills. I estimated that I called Melissa twenty times during a seven month period, she was NEVER available to take my calls and she NEVER returned a call. In January of 2018 we finally made an appointment with a,what I now will refer to as as REAL attorney. He was shocked at how long we had been in limbo and then disgusted to find that we had been given inaccurate legal advise regarding the medical bills (they should gave been run through medical insurance).
It didn't take a rocket scientist to realize that this person was a REAL attorney. When he sent the letter in essence firing Melissa Matsanaka from our case and requesting all documents in reference to the case he was further taken aback at how little work had even been done on my sons behalf.
I am happy to say that our new attorney was able to reach a settlement that was fair and even better than expected. But due to Ms. Matsanakas negligence my son is responsible for the medical bills in their entirety because they were not filed with the health insurance in a timely manner.
DON'T put yourself through this farce of a law firm you will end up kicking yourself. We are seriously considering filing a grievance.
