We got all the legal end-of-life documents that really need to be done in advance. More important, we got the sense that our needs were anticipated, we were valued and cared for, that we have a partner who is expert in this area and has got our back. That is worth more than you can imagine when it becomes necessary.
I didn't have this kind of help when my Mom passed, and I had to manage her estate, wrap up her affairs, probate the will, and all this other stuff that everyone has to do but nobody wants to do or (at least in my case) knows how to do.
