My x husband hired this unethical attorney!! He hired him right after our daughter accused Dad of touching her inappropriately for years!! This creep of a lawyer told my x husband to quit his job with Miami Dade Fire Rescue before the allegations come out. Now why would he say that, because Mr. Brandt had me record what the daughter was accusing the Dad of doing, without the daughter knowing she is being recorded. Why, because children don’t lie well, according to Arthur Brandt and we can catch her in a lie. I recorded the daughter, sent tape to Brandt. After he heard the tape is when he told my x to retire from Miami Dade Fire Rescue and get his pension going, before these allegations come out! Arthur Brandt then called me and used the same scare tactics, why you ask because Mr. Brandt knew that I didn’t believe my x husband and was going to turn him in to the authorities to have investigated. It was getting way too weird! He told me to let him retire, that way you and the kids will have some income, otherwise you may get no support. He said I could always go after him later if I believe the allegations to be true. WHAT? Really this is one of “those” attorneys. Horrible, unethical and corrupt!!

Absolutely useless. Incompetent. Lazy. My house went into foreclosure because this guy ignored demands for a Loss Mit contract to be signed, for THREE months!! The original filing looked like it was completed by an amateur. Giving benefit of the doubt, I have to assume it was a template he used from a prior client and failed to update with information from my case. The filing claimed I received Disability income and that no children involved. Both are completely FALSE! The financial affidavit filed, literally listed absolutely nothing. It just stated over and over again, “N/A, not in possession.” He outright ignored repeated requests for missing financials. He didn’t prepare the final judgement, which is a requirement of the petitioner, and also required to set a final hearing. I could go on and on… Just don’t bother. You’re welcome!

This attorney is a big liar. He came in and promised me to have my case settled and me out of jail within a few months. After paying $5,000 he took my money and tried to get me to sign a 7 years in prison and 5 yrs on probation. Telling me that this was the best I was gonna get. I fired him and acquired another attorney and was sentenced to time severed and 1 year probation. He's the the liar and should be doing time in prison.

Please read this before you hire this man. I had never had any criminal issues before hiring Brandt so I didn't know what to look for in hiring a criminal attorney. DON'T make the same mistake I did in hiring this man. Six years ago, I was on my way to the airport to pick a friend's family member up. It was me and two friends in the car. We had taken 95 south to get to the airport. I needed to use the restroom badly and so we stopped right off the exit in Rivera Beach at the closest gas station. This was evening time and it was dark outside. I went into the gas station and was informed that the restroom was out of order. The clerk said I could go around back if I just was needing to pee as it was private. So I ran around to the back. Not yet unzipped, a police officer appeared and yelled asking what I was doing. I told him I was about to pee. Immediately, he handcuffed me and put me in his patrol car. The officer didn't ask my name, who I was with or if I had a vehicle, he just put me in the back of his car and took me to the police station. My friends had no idea what to do as all of this happened within maybe three minutes of us arriving at the gas station. They couldn't even get out of our car and over to the cops car before the officer had pulled off with me in the back. I spent almost 24 hours in the Palm Beach Count Jail charged with INDECENT EXPOSURE. Me, a professional man, never having any criminal history, was locked up and charged with the same crime as a FLASHER or PERVERT for ALMOST peeing in the back of a gas station in a private area. The day after, I called different Criminal Attorneys I had found on Google. The only attorney that could see me the same day was Brandt. I came to his office, told him what happened. He said he would need a $1,500 retainer and that he could get this dropped immediately. I told him I was very worried as I am in a professional career that requires no criminal history and in addition, I knew I had done nothing wrong. He assured me that he would resolve the issue and I would be cleared and have no record. I asked if he would check to see if there were cameras at the gas station so we could prove that I had not even unzipped yet and he said yes, he would do that and get statements from my friends. So, trusting that he was a man of his word, I paid him the $1,500 that day. After not hearing back, I started calling to find out what had been done. I knew from talking to my friends that he had not tried to contact them for statements. I spoke with Mary at his office who assured me that their office was working on the case. I knew there was a court date coming up and still had had no contact from Mr. Brandt. Mary continued to string me along telling me they were working on my case. No one called. At this point, I didn't know what to do so I took matters into my own hands. I drove down to the gas station and talked with the manager and got a copy of the video from the night of the arrest. I sat down with my friends and asked them to write down everything they witnessed. I then called Mr. Brandt's office and told them what I had done and asked what I should do with the information I had gathered. I got character statements as well. I finally got thru to Brandt, he said I had done a good job collecting the info and he would call me back. He didn't call me, NEVER talked to witnesses or viewed the videotape. I still hadn't talked with him again until the morning of court. We went before the judge and prosecutor and I told them I had witnesses. The prosecutor said she knew nothing about any witnesses and that she hadn't even talked to Brandt about my case. After hearing me speak about my witnesses, the prosecutor said they would dismiss the case if I could prove I had done volunteer work. Brandt said "take that deal" and you'll be done with this. Not knowing what court terms mean, I asked Brandt if this meant it would be taken out of the record and he said yes. Not only did he not do his job, BRANDT LIED. Today I found out I lost a job because this is still on my record.

Brandt took $5000.00 to defend me in a criminal case. Told me he would run an investigation. Finally gets evidence from the Prosecutor. Guess what the Evidence is not even from my case. Now it is too late for Brandt to get my case info. I go to trial at his urging and wind up with 15 year sentence. Don’t trust and don’t hire. AND YES HIS NAME IS ARTHUR BRANDT IN STUART FLORIDA!

A waste of time using this firm. Do not give him a retainer you will be sorry. You would be best advised to use a lawyer straight out of law school then using Arthur. I have been in many situations thru my life in all phases of legal issues including divorce. By far the most incompetent I dealt with. Go with your gut feeling. It tells you to run then do so.
