Read MoreLast year I found myself in a position where for the first time in my life, I had to analyze the possibility of bankruptcy. There was so much information online, I kept on going back and forth between Business Bankruptcy or Personal Bankruptcy thinking those where my only alternatives.
Prior to my consultation with Matthew I was devastated. Anxious, nervous, confused and scared. It was on a Monday I decided to move forward and consult a lawyer. I called and I was given an appointment for the next morning. I did not know what to expect from my free consultation (how in depth could a free consultation be?) but I thought I would only have one hour to explain my information.Fifteen minutes into the meeting I realized I had found THE lawyer I needed! From the get go, I felt he was on my side (I have met lawyers before that tell you what needs to be done...very technical...but without any empathy). He was more worried about getting all the facts than about the clock. His knowledge, his calm yet sure demeanor and his understanding disposition towards my situation replaced my fear and shame with a feeling of relief. Everything was going to be ok.
The consultation was a success. He took more than the assigned time making it a point to get all the facts before he could recommend anything. I went there thinking I could only get help with the bankruptcy topics, but Matt is very knowledgeable with many aspects which led to him to give me advice in many other issues surrounding my situation. In addition, Matt has a gift to think out of the box. He is a person that brings practicality to a moment where it seems every detail presents a risk. He understood the situation, made a high level assessment and presented my options - all of which had a set price making it easy for me to make my decisions on how to move forward. The words “fair, just and dedicated” define Matt. In everything he does. Even his pricing. His interests where not in making as much money off me as possible - he looked for the most cost efficient and emotionally stress free resolution for my problems. His timely and prompt responses were very welcome. I do not know how he does it, but I certainly felt as if I was his priority at all times.
