We stayed here for 3 nights with our small camper. Some things we liked about this campground: the proximity to Asheville, the concrete pads underneath the campers, the river view, the trash pick-up each morning, the easy online check-in process, the access to the bike path, the small-ish size, and the price.
Honestly, the noise level was not bad. It's next to a highway, so I'm not sure what kind of silent evening miracle people were expecting in previous reviews? We slept through it with no problem!
However, we were really disappointed with the bathroom situation. The first day, someone was actively cleaning it. But, judging by the same pieces of trash/hair clumps/bugs being in the same place on my 3rd day there, it's safe to say it isn't cleaned very often. The toilets were new and the showers were hot, but the bathrooms smelled badly for most of the time. The only other issue is that a lot of transient folks were making their way into the campground; one guy even asking if he could tie his tarps to our vehicle. He spent the rest of the evening talking to himself and fidgeting with his site about a foot from our camper windows. It's not necessarily Wilson's fault, as homelessness is an issue in this area, but maybe some security measures can be put into effect?
Overall, I would probably recommend this campground, as it is a decent value for the money.
