45 minute check-in - “system is slow”, unable to print any documents so they gave me the key and said to go to the room. Unusual - they checked my ID and card at check-in - then took it, asked my wife for hers and put them into a scanner - not sure why they need that after confirming payment so I asked about it. Clerk had no idea why it was saved, how it was used, etc. We then went out for the evening, arriving back at 11:30PM - to be stopped at the desk when entering and told that I now needed to ‘sign’ several documents that were omitted at check-in. Their system pops up a place for signatures without showing or telling you what you are actually agreeing to when you sign. You literally could be signing ANYTHING and wouldn’t know so I asked to see a copy of what the signatures were for. I was told ‘your folio’ and I could see what I signed after my signature was in it. I was uncomfortable doing so and explained that’s not how it works - you don’t sign legal documents sight unseen only to have the clerk repeat that it had to be done. Remember, we were already allowed to check-in without them earlier. It led to a long discussion and threat of expulsion from the hotel so I signed reluctantly. Then, when I did receive a copy - the clerk provided a ‘folio’ with a small note at the bottom where it said I had reviewed all of their policies, acknowledged them and waived rights that were not specified. If this is the level of transparency, I wouldn’t never stay again or share any confidential information with them.
Now, on to the room. Room is okay but furniture (chair) is absolutely filthy - looks like it came straight out of a garbage bin - dirty, stained, etc. This makes me question how often the bed spreads are sanitized.
Definitely, don’t recommend.
