We arrived on July 2019 (family, 3 adults one kid), were driving for good 15 hours and we're ready to stop. The front of this place looks good, price advertised does too and decided to try it. Front desk guy (whom I believe is the owner) greet us kindly, while he was doing registration I read the 15 signs he has...(check in/out times, you have 15 to check your room of you want to switch, don't smoke, about 5 signs that says NO PETS , No refunds etc) price was good for two double beds $57. He gave us our card key and show us how to get there (place is HUGE) We went and since I like to read signs I checked the room before unpacking, the lights were no working so O went to mention this to him, he apologized and offer another room which we agreed , gave is the new key card but couldn't be open for us or the janitor so we went back to get another room, guy offer us for a "little more money" an apartment which I decline as we only need a few hours to rest , the janitorial told him about another room (far from the office ) and switch us to that one, finally we arrived and it was good that our truck would be Park right in front of the room as I grew suspicious when I saw the condition of the place, it is old, outdated and really need tlc (it doesn't look like that from the main entrance) we open our room which he said it was non-smoking but I swear smelled like cigarettes which I despise, we don't want problems, were tired and only need to rest so we just stayed, my son is diabetic and need insulin so we carry a lot which must be refrigerated, the refrigerator wasn't working so we called to tell him and very rudely said "YOU ONLY HAVE 15 MIN TO CHECK YOUR ROOM" (Which I have never experienced in the thousands of hotels/motels we had ever stayed as we are frequent travelers) and said.."I'll send someone" time went by I a grew stressed for the refrigerator problem and the reviews about crime on the zone, the janitor show up with a refrigerator so we decided just to take our belongings to the car (we were planning to lock our car with them ) but I wouldn't sleep if we leave our staff outside .
Room: As I said before smelled bad, tube tv, the carpet was "clean" but looks real old as did the furniture. Beds were made (pillows were standing? One against the other one. I uncover the mattress to check for bed bugs but I am happy to inform that nothing was found , sheets and covers were clean. Towels, let's say...is better if you bring your own as well soap and toiletries
AC was good (surprisingly)
Our night was calm and trouble/noise free. No crime to report
Would I stay there again? Totally and absolutely no.
Place really looked great in the outside but in is like a halfway house. (It is a shame, some love will do great things with such an enormous property)
