Read MoreThis was my first stay at the Ritz / a 5 star hotel, and it was unfortunately not what I expected. BEST thing was all the staff we encountered (5 Star Staff). Everyone was wonderful and helpful. Front desk, front door, valet, security, and room service staff all Aces! The room was not what I expected at the Ritz. Runs and stains in the carpet, Hotel furniture was beat up, snags and runs in the robes, coffee pods cut open but look as if they were untouched, no AC (temp was set to 65 but never got below 75), the toilet didn't flush and single ply TP at a 5 star hotel. We stayed on a windy couple days and the room we were in sounded like an elementary recorder concert all night both nights (I understand the hotel can't do anything about that but it's still the Ritz).
For the amount spent for only 2 nights, the room conditions were not what I'd expect from a 5 star hotel. I do admit this was my very first stay at a 5 star hotel and I am sadly disappointed.
Thank you again to the staff. You are what makes the clout real! I don't think I could bring myself to spend that kind of money again for what we got. I wouldn't tell anyone not to stay there but I'm not encouraging it.
