I stayed at The Highland Dallas on September 14, 2025, and it was a very disappointing experience.
First Impressions:
The hotel entrance looked beautiful, and I had high hopes. But things quickly went downhill.
Room & View:
Our room was on the 3rd floor, and the view was awful — just dirty rooftops or the neighbor's window staring at us just a few feet away -- we kept the windows closed. Not what I expected from a hotel that looks fancy from the outside.
Loud Noise at Night:
On Monday night around 1:00 AM, there were countless cars racing outside — very loud and constant for at least an hour before the police finally came. I couldn’t sleep at all. I had a full day of meetings the next day (12 hours), and I was exhausted. Because of that, I didn’t even get to enjoy the pool or other amenities.
No Housekeeping Service:
We left the room at 9:00 AM on Tuesday and came back at 9:30 PM. Housekeeping never came. No clean towels, no beds made — they completely skipped us. It was not pleasant to come home at 9:30 PM to find our room untouched.
Water? Get It Yourself and Pay:
That same night, I asked at the front desk if they had bottled water. They said, “Yes, you can get one yourself over there and then pay for it.” Sure, it’s fine to charge for water, but the way they said it just didn’t match the level of service I expected. It felt like they didn’t care.
Wrong Charges on My Bill:
When I checked out, I saw four charges on my bill from that day — none of them were mine. This should not happen at any hotel.
Only Good Thing: Breakfast:
The one good part was breakfast at the hotel restaurant. The food was great and the service was fine.
Bottom Line:
The stay was ruined by noise, bad service, and shady billing. I won’t stay here again, and I don’t recommend it to anyone — especially not if you need a good night’s sleep or reliable service.
