I would have given 5 stars because the hotel really was very pleasant, clean, warm, dry, comfortable, etc. The breakfast was a throwback to my childhood (in a good way!) staying at Super 8 and Motel 6, having cereal and pastries and fruit and waffles and juice...... Great value for our money, was within 15 minutes of where we needed to be at 8:30am. Good stuff!
MINUS ONE STAR ON ROOMS BECAUSE, something in the air inside the building was "too much." I think maybe they use some air fresheners that are too scented? I didn't notice it 'stronger' in the bed itself so I don't think it was the sheets (laundry detergent), but it was very noticeable. Not a bad scent, but if you don't do smells, get headaches from scented things or you just generally have sensitive sinuses (like my husband), you might not sleep at all (he didn't, and I woke partially every time he sneezed or went to blow his nose in the bathroom). If it hadn't been the end of October, we would have opened the windows to try and air it out.
MINUS ONE STAR ON SERVICE BECAUSE front desk staff were quite slow and spent far more time talking to each other than they did to me, but they got the job done and they were kind. The woman completing my check-in even gave me the option of which floor I wanted, and recommended the top floor so that there was nobody making noise above me. :)
I will totally come back again if I ever need a hotel in that area when I am either without my sinus-sensitive husband or it's a time of year where I can plan to leave the windows open at night.
