POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. DIRTY ROOMS. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. I booked a multi-bed studio for a week in September with my mom. I was attracted to this hotel for its free breakfast, pool, fitness room, and amazing rates (it’s Marriott… so it’s supposed to be good, right?!). We booked an amazing rate through hotels.com. It was a solid $40 cheaper per night. I called Marriott to see if they could match that price and they wouldn’t. Check in was easy and painless. Dropped off the luggage in the room and left to explore the city. Came back at the end of the day, unpacked, and hopped in the shower. Started lathering up and noticed there was HAIR all over the shower wall. Too late, I rinsed off the hair and tried to forget about it. Woke up early the next morning to get in my routine workout. To my dismay, BOTH treadmills were broken. This left their elliptical and bike open. Not really what I wanted. Oh well, I’ll do some strength exercises instead. I look over to the weights and the 10 lb, 15 lb, and 20 lb dumbbells are missing. Those are the weights I needed! I’m not strong enough to routinely lift 25lb+ weights. There was a huge hole in the ceiling of the fitness room as well. That afternoon I really needed some scissors to cut something. Headed down to the front desk and there was nobody there. I did see the door to the office (which is located behind the front desk) was open and illuminated. I crept back there saying “hello? Is anybody here?” One of the housekeepers saw this and ran towards me yelling “MAAM MAAM STEP BACK FROM THE FRONT COUNTER” Behind her was the front desk clerk who sternly said “You are NOT allowed behind the front desk.” I apologized and asked if they had any scissors and the clerk rolled her eyes, clicked her tongue, and stated that they don’t have any scissors. That evening I was looking forward to a dip in their pool. I was greeted by a sign that stated the pool was closed for cleaning. The pool was green. I waited a couple of DAYS and the sign was still there. Halfway through my stay I requested to talk to the manager. I expressed my frustrations about booking a hotel with a pool and a fitness room and neither were suitable for use. He acted very annoyed about my comments, rolled his eyes, and said the pool is SUPPOSED to be open in a couple of hours and if could go to their nearby sister property if I wanted to use their pool and fitness room. Isn’t that supposed to be part of the luxury about staying in a hotel? Exercising or swimming with the convenience of your room right around the corner? I really had no interest in crossing the street and walking 5 minutes to their sister property. I came back to the pool a couple of hours later and the cleaning signs were taken down… but the pool was still GREEN. No way I was getting in that cesspool. To top it all off, i inspected the wall next to my bed on my last night there. There was a BOOGER wiped on the wall from one of the previous tenants. YUCK. I really question the cleanliness of this hotel. The breakfast each morning was adequate (I hope you like watery scrambled eggs!). The A/C in the front lobby/breakfast area was broken for the entirety of my stay. Every morning I was miserable and sweating while eating my scrambled eggs. Additionally, it is nearly impossible to leave the hotel during the morning commute hours. The light at the end of the street gets horribly backed up with people trying to turn left onto Ashley Phosphate Rd. I tried to call Marriott to share my experience with them. The agent had no desire to even listen to me since I booked through a third party. I really didn’t even care about compensation, I just thought Marriott would like to be aware of how their properties are being ran. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience and I would compare it to a quality inn at best. I always thought Marriott’s had high standards, but this hotel has proven me wrong. Fabulous stay!!! Clean and Quiet. Late check out too (12 pm) The breakfast was six out of 10, but the courtesy of the staff and their attentiveness plus the price combined for what you receive , it is well worth it. Even extended my check out time a bit as I took an impromptu trip to the beach that morning and was late getting back on time. The hotel was inexpensive, the air conditioner worked well and staff was friendly. Unfortunately, our room smelled like smoke, which the staff sprayed and offered to switch rooms. The bed made you roll toward the center. Breakfast was not good and had very little selection. The coffee station is only open during breakfast hours. They only have one elevator working. Only 1 of 2 Tesla charging spots were working. Lastly, and I don’t know if this is all the time but, the road to leave was backed up at least 15 minutes the 4 days we stayed. I travel frequently, and I can confidently say that this hotel has the friendliest staff I've ever encountered. Lanae, Corrine, and Tanya went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable and enjoyable. Their warmth and helpfulness truly set this hotel apart. The front desk team here is by far the best I've ever experienced. I can't recommend this place enough! I have not stayed here before, but due to thr poor customer service I will not be staying in the future either. We booked a room for 2 nights for my sons volleyball tournament. He broke his leg and could no longer play. Was out the rest of the season. I contacted the hotel as soon as we found out (4 days prior to stay) and requested a cancelation and refund. They agreed to cancel the booking but would not refund ANY of my money. They also would not allow me a credit to use on a future booking. They decided to say screw you and kept my money. I booked a room on priceline at about 10:45 p.m. Saturday evening (1/11/25), for myself and my boyfriend. We checked in late shortly after that. We were super exhausted we had been moving for 12 hours and still had another 26 ft uhaul packed full that we needed to unload into our storage unit. It was super cold all day do we were looking forward to getting out of the cold and into our room with the heat on to start thawing out. The hotel receptionist was friendly. ( I might add that because I have a local address I was charged a $250 deposit for a $90 room, but I am not a savage..... so, ok whatever its gonna take for me to get to my room and get some rest. ) We get upstairs to our room ( room #317 ), and the first thing was the t.v. wouldnt come on, and when it did it would just randomly cut off. After we finally put our stuff down and were settled we noticed that the heat wasn't cutting on and we were still cold. With that being said, I spent 20 years plus years working in various facets of the hospitality industry and I almost will never complain when things are not as they should be. So, my boyfriend and I decided we were too tired we would just get under the covers and get cozy, and we would just give them a heads up that those things should be looked at before they rent the room again. The following morning, we went to get showers before we hit the road about 10 ish. No hot water, no warm water, we finally gave up on getting showers around 11:15 we needed to get that truck unloaded. We started to clean up our breakfast mess, and look underneath things and behind stuff to make sure we hadn't accidentally dropped anything we might leave behind. While bending down to pick up the remote that had fallen on the side of the bed I see a used condom! I was an inch away from accidentally touching it! We also found a Sonics bag stuffed behind the nightstand. All I could think at this point was what if my children were with us and one of them found that condom and picked it up. This is more than unacceptable! We politely let the receptionist know about the heat, no hot water for showers, and the used condom and other trash, and she was polite, but all she said was "I will definitely bring it to housekeeping's attention and I am sorry about that." No mention of management or mention of an attempt to make it right or a response that acknowledged each issue specifically. This is a horrible way to treat customers. I understand the receptionist didn't do these things to us, and really she was just doing her job as she had been advised by her boss to do. Again she was polite when giving her response. However, if the response she gave us was the policy she is given to abide by the policy is wrong! What is hospitable about this experience? We could have slept in the uhaul and saved $90. What a waste! The icing on the cake is that I had to pay $250 to sleep in a filthy room with no heat and no hot water! Shame on Spring Hill Suites you should be treating your guests in a way that reflects how you would like to be treated. So, I will end with this, if you were me, how exactly would you handle paying for a room at a hotel with the experience your hotel gave me? If I had to guess, I would say you would not have just let things play out the way they did for me. I will tell everyone I know about this, for as long as your establishment is in business! Never, will you ever see another hard earned dollar from me! There are plenty of establishments out there with policies in place that protect the consumer and value the result of a positive guest experience. Food & drinks There was a great breakfast spread, but hardly any snacks and poor drinks selection in the lobby market. Noteworthy details Found a prior guest's used condom in my room on the floor!!! No hot water for showers in the morning!

Generally a good experience. However the area was very noisy and the room walls/ceiling/floors must have been thin. We could hear all of our neighbors around us. Fixtures and fit and finish we're ok but always in need of TLC. USB ports were all under powered and worn out. Just give me more regular plugs to use.
