We called about availability and was told room 7 would be where we’d stay, however upon arrival, we were told the room wasn’t ready and instead was put in room 6. The room was small but in fairly decent condition with some cosmetic issues and few roaches which didn’t bother us, however the bathrooms shower was in questionable condition and there was a pipe running the sink water down the shower’s drain. The lady in charge told us to buy a mat or use a bag for the shower floor since the tile was dirty (even after using bleach to clean it). The refrigerator was a full size, but the freezer was the only option since the cooler was broken, which we were told would be fixed the day after we arrived but no body came to fix it until the owner kicked us out(explained later). The lady would try to come in our room with the key she had uninvited and kept asking us to pay $400 because we had a dog. We explained that the owner lowered the price since we weren’t in a big room, but she would continually ask everyday. We did what we could waiting for the room we were supposed to go to (took 3 weeks) and when another tenant wanted to go to a bigger room, she switched us into a recently vacated room until room 7 was ready. When we went in there were roaches in every part and a nest in the dresser we had to take out because of how bad the infestation was. We left for a few hours and came back to roaches in everything that wasn’t sealed, including the bed. She told us that she cleaned but there were obvious signs nothing was touched. She kept asking us to pay $400 and when we inquired about the issues, she told us they would be fixed but again, nothing came of it. I kept trying to reach the owner, but she didn’t give me their number and it wasn’t until the next morning that she come literally pounding on the door that I got to speak to him. I explained our situation and stated the treatment we were receiving and he told us to check out that night then hung up. We had no place to go and maybe $200 at the time, so I asked her to call him back and explained that we would stay if we could fix the issues. He told us to leave tomorrow and she would give back our deposit for the first room. We found a place closer to our job and began moving but when we came for the deposit, she told us she didn’t have the money and we’d have to come back again. Overall I’d give this place and management a 0, but since it was the only option and relatively close to a few spots( laundry, gas station, family dollar, grocery store) I’ll give it a 1.5
