Let me start off by saying if I could give this hotel a 0 that’s what it would receive. This place is defined not as shown in the online photos. It is old, run down, full of bugs and stinky. The day we arrived and checked in we went straight back to the front desk and told them for $230 a night and it looking nothing like the photos posted online we expected a lot more. We discussed our concerns, holes with nails sticking out in the floors, foil around there little window A/C units that let the bugs in, the most awful mattress, etc. When talking to the gentleman working the front desk, he stated that he slept in the same room we were staying in, room 205 a couple weeks ago and that he had let Gayle the owner know that it needed to be redone ASAP. He also said the bed was the most uncomfortable thing he has ever slept in. He proceeded to tell us he would contact the owner and see about some compensation and let us know in the morning.
Now here is the kicker…… Fast forward to the next morning. We go down to get the free “breakfast” and was told by the cafe worker we need to talk to the front desk, We walked over and were asked to VACATE the property. Yes that’s right, they kicked us out for coming into the hotel at 12:30 and being louder in the halls while walking to our rooms than they thought we should have been. It was literally probably about a total of 2 minutes to walk to our rooms, get in bed and crash for the night. When asking if other guests complained they said No, but the power trip of the night time desk worker/retired sheriff took it upon himself to determine we were to loud while walking to our rooms. I also asked a group that was checking out that morning if we woke or kept them up in which they replied, no we were awake and heard you come in but once you shut your door we didn’t hear a word. Well the walls are thin, door knobs are broken you’re going to hear everything in the halls, regardless. Also when getting kicked out he informed us that we would not be receiving a refund for the additional night booked. He claimed it fell under the 72 hour cancellation policy. Excuse me you kicked us out we didn’t cancel. They refused to serve us the free “breakfast” (if you want to call it that) even though it was included with the room. After arguing with the front desk staff about not paying for the second night I was able to locate Gail’s phone number and contact her. She proceeded to tell us that we weren’t happy with the rooms anyways and that we needed to leave. (Maybe a little upset from that solidified her decision to kick us out.) We were happy to leave but not if we weren’t going to get refunded for the additional night, as we needed to find somewhere else to stay and needed funds to pay for that. She did finally agree to refund us for the remaining night because I let her know she could either do that or I would dispute it with my credit card company. She also argued saying that our room was one of the “updated” rooms! Let me assure you the rooms we stayed in looked nothing like the rooms look online. Gail is a crook and talking to the locals one to stay away from. In all my life I didn't know you could get kicked out for being “to loud” in the halls on the way to your room for maybe a total of 2 minutes. because I can assure you there wasn’t any noise as soon as we got in the room. Do yourself a favor and stay as far away from this place as you can.
