Now for the cons. We stayed during peak season and paid over $400 a night for the room. We knew this wasn’t an upscale hotel, but we didn’t expect it to be in such rough shape. Our first room smelled of marijuana, and the hallways did too. It was so strong our kids had their nose plugged the whole time we were in the room. Thankfully, we were able to switch to another room with no odor.
The second night was better, but then we experienced room maintenance issue with our new room. Since the hotel was fully booked, they couldn’t move us again so we just had to deal with it.
Also, the pictures posted online made it seem like the outdoor pool was oceanfront it is not it is located across the street. There is an indoor (non-heated) pool in the hotel.
I wasn’t expecting luxury, but for $400+ a night, some simple things could have been easily caught or fixed and it would have been a better experience. They didn’t even offer a free meal ticket, room discount or reward points or anything to say sorry for your horrible experience to make me want to come back to this hotel again. I would not recommend.
