Upon first checking in, immediately once we entered our room, there was scratched and damaged furniture. When we went to open the curtains, there were flies everywhere. We counted at least 10. When we tried to call the front desk from our room phone, we kept getting hung up on. Come to find out, the phone doesn’t work in the room and the front desk was aware of this.
When I asked to be transferred to another room, he asked why and I explained it was primarily due to the amount of bugs in our room. His response was “well it is because of the season. So they are coming inside. ” and then awkwardly paused. I replied stating that I can understand that, however having 10+ giant flies in our room is still unsettling.
So I requested to be switched to another room and he found one for us.
When we went into this room we found:
There were burn marks in the carpet. The fire alarm was disconnected/broken. The walls were very thin as we could hear everything our neighbors were saying. At this point, we did not want to push our luck with the front desk and we had someplace to be within the hour so we just decided to stay in the room. When we returned to the room, I wanted to take a shower. The hot water did not work in our room. It was freezing water! We tried to off set this by turning up the heat in the room to warm up after my shower. We set it to 76° and the room never heat up. It was pretty frigid all night. For $170+, this hotel was NOT worth it for the inconvenience it gave. I was very disappointed with our stay.
