We stayed for a night on our way back home from up north. It was a great mid point stop and not far from our evening activities at The Duck Pond to see the Madison Night Mares and Madison Mallards play. Space was great. Check in...Read More
VacationCoupleLocation: 5We stayed in the Walt Whitman room. The rooms are old but charming. They will also be renovated this fall into coming spring so stay tuned for upgrades. The bed was super comfy (sometimes it’s hard to find a good night’s sleep at a BnB, but this was great!), and the view…the view is the main attraction. We were only about a 6-10 minute drive to places like the Olbrich Conservatory, the Mallards, and the capital. The neighborhood was walkable with lots of nearby shops and restaurants.Great view, Romantic, Quiet, Great value

We stayed only one night while passing through Madison and wish we could have stayed longer! As a queer Canadian couple, we felt welcome and safe in this beautiful old house. Some of the perks were: the view of the lake from inside the house,...Read More

We have stayed here twice, and both times had a very pleasant experience. Though our room wasn’t the largest available, it did have a large bathtub and a balcony. The common areas are beautiful and delightful to hang out in. Bob and Dave are...Read More

What an amazing place! Such a beautiful view, such a beautiful garden and foliage all over the property. It is a very easy walk to State street and the Capitol building. Bob was super helpful with our reservation and check in, even though we booked...Read More
VacationCoupleLocation: 5We stayed in the Oscar Wilde room. Each room is named after an author. Our room and shower were great. I might check out Uncle Walt’s room next time. The view of the lake from Oscar Wilde room (which has a back patio looking over the water) is priceless. The time and effort they put into breakfast and the room decor and so many other little things, well it is very appreciated and well done. Thank you to our hosts.Great view, Romantic, Quiet, Great value

I really hate being like everyone else, but in this case, I feel compelled to do like everyone else and write a rave review of this place. If you want to stay in a building that looks new and completely picture-perfect, this ain't it. But if...Read More
VacationCoupleLocation: 5The room we stayed in had everything we needed: a cozy bed, a desk, a TV that was perfectly adequate but didn't make itself the star of the show, a bathroom with whirlpool tub, and a balcony. There were plenty of lighting choices. We can't speak to how the heat works, but the window-box AC got the room nice and cool for our arrival. It was walking-distance from The Majestic, where we went to a concert as well as from UWHealth Hospital where I had an appointment. I think the place is quite centrally located.Great view, Romantic, Quiet, Great value

For some reason we didn't realize that the garden view room was in the basement so we had to climb up and down stairs which was difficult for me as I am in remission from multiple myeloma. I probably would have given five stars if...Read More

While the common rooms were beautiful--furnished with Craftsman furniture and decorations and with a fabulous view of the lake--the room itself was a little run down and not at all as appealing as in the photographs. However, it was clean …

Lovely house with beautiful architecture and gracious hosts. Room was very comfortable. Lots of natural light. The main floor has an open feel but several areas for quiet conversation. Will definitely return here when I am back in Madison.
