La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Spokane Downtown

In town for a multi-night stay, and was a little worried at first, due to the neighborhood. However, the hotel is secure and parking was convenient. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and large enough for three women to stay together. Hair dryer, microwave, and fridge were provided, plus guest laundry was available. Breakfast was good and well maintained. However, the highlight, however, was the first-class employees. From the night clerk, Amy, who was more than happy to take care of our after-hour requests, to the front-desk manager, John, that greeted us at all the odd hours we kept during our stay, to Jordan, the manager. He was always cheerful and busy, keeping breakfast flowing nicely, picking up after guests, and offering sound advice as to where to go for out needs while in town. If ever in Spokane, I will stay here again, and highly recommend.

The hotel itself and the staff were good. The only downside to the hotel is the location. There were dozens of homeless people across the street and on the grass beside the hotel. It made me feel uneasy leaving my vehicle in the parking lot. That said, there was no issues with my car, so the security of the hotel seems to be present. It's just a shame my level of unease affected my stay. There's a fence around the hotel, but not completely, which seemed a little counter productive. Enjoyed speaking with the kind staff and the breakfast in the morning was nice, but would be better if it was open later. The room was clean and well kept. Would definitely stay at another la Quinta, just not this location.

We enjoyed the stay, linens are clean, bathroom and shower areas in our room were clean, staff is friendly and helpful. Our mattresses were a bit too old, but were adequate for one night. Unfortunately, downtown Spokane has a large homeless population, this is a detractor and the reason for the low review on location.

We always feel very welcome and safe. Management goes above and beyond to make your stay a pleasant one. Breakfast is great, meat, eggs, hot and cold cereal, muffins, breads, bagels, yogurt, waffles, fruit juices etc. safety is not an issue, management runs a very tight ship. Give them a try, you won’t be disappointed. Clean facility!!!

Location is convenient for the sacred heart hospital, although the surrounding area is pretty overrun with homeless people. The saving grace is that it is fenced in and there is onsite security 24/7. Brandi was running the front desk and she was very awesome, polite and went above and beyond with the accommodations for my family. The room was nice, quiet and comfortable. The bathroom was a little dirty but other than that everything felt clean and tidy.

Hotels property and facility are nice! Only downside is the location is rough!!! There are tons of homeless all around, across the street, and next door at the two surrounding gas stations. Few wandered through the hotel parking lot while we were there. Our room came with a broken toilet seat and luggage rack. Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and breakfast was decent!

I hate to disparage a business but do not stay here. Across the street is a 7/11 that is a hotspot for homeless and drug addicts. You’ll find a gated fence to defend against that but it’s only gated on one side. You’ll be scared to park your car here. Check-in was one lady working with a long line with her continuing to say I’m the only person working. Not her fault but it was frustrating. Then I get to the room to find terrible lighting and filth. I found some kind of pill on the floor near the lamp and thank god I found it before my 5 year old did. She may have thought it was candy. I also find crumbs of chips in the carpet and a yellow stained shower curtain. Then we go to jump in bed and find black hairs all over the sheets. They had not been changed. Then we had teenagers in a room next to us making noise until 1am. The front desk said they’d handle it after they admitted to having problems out of the kids all day. They never did anything. I had to call the room and threaten to call police to get it to stop. I was only in this room to catch an early flight the next morning, but I would have been better off sleeping in my car at the airport. This was a nasty, scary, and disgusting hotel. The room stunk too. Don’t say you weren’t warned. It was a huge waste of my money.

This hotel was adequate. I chose it because it had an accessible room with a shower sprayer and we were in town for a procedure that required showering my son prior to surgery while also avoiding getting his arm wet. The room was what I expected it was clean and basic. The bed was comfortable. We had to be at the hospital at six am so we missed breakfast. It would be nice if they offered a breakfast to go for those who check out early.

this hotel is IN THE HOOD. there are two shelters and a methadone clinic within a block. its not the hotels fault, but i would NEVER go back again. there are literally hundreds of people wandering the streets in this area. tons of needles. Definitely expect to be yelled if youre on the streets nearby. saw a few people drinking hand sanitizer and injecting needles in their thighs. the hotel had to call the police twice during our 4 breakfasts. Also we only had room cleaning 1/5 nights despite asking for it to be done every day. we were changing our own garbages and making our own bed. the one time they did come, they only brought 2 new towels and changed one of the two garbage. without a doubt the worst room service I've ever had at a hotel. the manager , never offered us any discount despite saying they knew they were having issues with the cleaners not doing their work. overall a tough place to stay. would never go back. like ever.

Meh. Room was too dark to read a book except directly under the desk lamp. Not spotless. No ice machine except floors 1 and 4. Tiniest coffee maker in the world. Tiny bed pillows. Broken AC that the staff had to come fix. The two good things were the TV and the free breakfast.

A very unsafe location next to a 7-11 that is essentially a homeless camp, including hourly megaphone announcements to clear the parking lot. Staff is misleading about the seriousness of the issue and can't be trusted to be reliable. Upon arrival, decided to not stay there and manager agreed to refund reservation charge to my credit card. Turned out to be a blatant lie. AARP Travel now investigating this place; it should not be on their list of recommendations.

The hotel itself is quality. The location, on the other hand, leaves one feeling a little worried about themselves and their belongings if you choose to walk anywhere. Homeless people on every corner and a junkie clinic across from them. I watched a drug deal go down across the street at the 7-11, so be careful

Spokane is not what I expected....a lot of homeless on the street & surrounding area... unfortunately this inn seems to be in the middle of this area...now nothing wrong with this lodging...parking seemed secure...rooms were clean, staff was pleasant & helpful... restaurants were nearby...good restaurants. This establishment is recommended. A good night's sleep.

I am appalled at the service. I made a reservation because I was coming to town to pick upa my 23 year old daughter who was stranded by friends in Spokane. She is paralyzed from the waist down and in a wheelchair. They charged my card and when my daughter went to check in because she had no where to go they wouldn't check her in and said my card didn't go through, even though it already charged my card.now that the money was taken out I can't afford to get another hotel room for my daughter who is on the street with no where to go and she is in a wheelchair chair. I don't know what else to even say about this I ma so distraught right now. As someone who works as a manager in the hotel industry, for a different company,I would never let this happen to a customer. Ever!

The location is close to the freeway, but not so close that you hear it. It's within minutes of a ton of stuff. The only downside is that because it's downtown, there are quite a few homeless people wandering around nearby. We saw some drug addicts getting high at the gas station next door, but that issue is not the hotels fault. Plus, they had 24-hour security driving through there. So even at night, I felt totally safe walking to and from the car. Also, after hours, you have to have your hotel key in order to get in the front doors.. so that made it feel safe also.

Very classy hotel with an excellent central location next to all the places you'd want to go in Spokane. Enjoyed a week-long stay while recovering from a surgery at one of the nearby hospitals and it was definitely the right choice. Yes, there may be homeless people nearby since it's also close to a few charities and kind businesses that don't run them out, but I consider that a good sign for the humanity of a community towards victims of our insane housing and rental crisis. If you're upset by seeing poor people living on the sidewalk, blame greedy landlords jacking up the rent in illegal price-fixing schemes, not the victims dealing with the mental health consequences of living on the literal sidewalk day and night the best they can. How would you react to that situation after a few months or years? They were all chill people to me and all I needed to do to ensure my and my beautiful partner's safety while walking around Spokane every day was smile at people, give them respectful nods, and wish them a good day, just like you would anyone else. If someone asked me for something I didn't have to give, I simply apologized that I couldn't help them with what they needed and wished them the best of luck. Anyway, onto my only gripes with the hotel: 1. We checked in on April Fools, so our air conditioner in the room would only blow enough cool air when the temperature was set to heat and the fan was on low. To make this even better (sarcastic), it was slightly cool outside so they blasted the heat to bake the halls inside, and the windows are sealed completely shut, which meant that even though it was a lovely cool spring, we had to have the A/C running constantly to make the room a sleepable temperature to fight the heat they were for some reason running constantly. An excellent use of energy and money from the hotel in a time of limited resources, am I right? (also sarcastic). 2. The breakfast was excellent and varied with healthy options available.... If you woke up at the crack of dawn and arrived at the breakfast no later than 6:15AM. Otherwise you would be out of luck. For a large four story hotel that was mostly full the entire time I was there by hungry and huge families, ravenous college sports teams, and beefy construction crews among other normal people fueling up for their day: They boiled Exactly twelve eggs, cooked Maybe four small portions of oatmeal, and put out At Best six non-vanilla yogurts per morning. These were completely gone by 6:20am and not replenished throughout the next 2 hours and 40 minutes of breakfast despite a dedicated employee in the kitchen next to the breakfast area and me paying over a thousand two-hundred dollars to stay there for a week and others paying over a hundred dollars a night. I think they could afford a few more servings of plain oats and boiled eggs since they clearly have the money and manpower to do so. If they are that strapped for cash, may I suggest not turning the hallways up to a temperature that could roast a small chicken and letting people at least crack the windows to get some cool spring air at night so every single room doesn't have to blast their A/C constantly. If you think I'm being petty because they do replenish the scrambled eggs and the hot protein pretty regularly during the morning: I am lactose intolerant and their scrambled eggs are loaded with milk and melted cheese, therefore utterly inedible to one such as I. It's nice that they're making fancy fluffy eggs for other people, but if you are going to put a very common allergen in your scrambled eggs you should at least have the decency to make sure there are boiled eggs available for your lactose intolerant guests. Also, the meat alternated between sausage -- which was pretty good -- and slices of warm ham that was so low quality as to be utterly inedible. Without the oats and boiled eggs, there were no real protein or carbs not loaded with dairy or sugar.

Filthy rooms, top of fridge had writing in the dust, fridge didn't get past cool so I pulled it out and checked the temp. Floor under was filthy. At door looks like a pop was spilled and someone wiped it up but didn't mop and theres footprints in it. wifi doesn’t go past 3mb, room is back against a wall of rock that prevents cell service from working. Toilet seat looked like it was sanded it was so worn. Neighborhood makes me think cars have a 50/50 chance of leaving with catalytic convertor intact. Being your pistol.

We stayed here a couple weeks ago there is barely any parking, we had to parked on the street where there are a lot of homeless around. We did not felt safe. The gal that checked us in was rude. Would I recommend this hotel? Nope!

Stayed here for over week on an out of town work trip. Staff 5 ⭐! The best things about this place. Is the people working it. Rooms are exactly what you should expect. Clean with most comforts. All due respect. The city of Spokane and the state of Washington. Need new leaders. The surrounding area is ridiculous to put it nicely.

Probably one of my worst experiences staying at a hotel. Breakfast was cold eggs, room had no shampoo. The sink would get all clogged. Tv wouldn't turn on. For some reason the AC wouldn't turn off. And reception was a bit rude. Won't be coming here again.
