I registered for our stay three days ahead of time and checked in on line one day ahead of our two day stay. That way you don’t have to wait at the desk and register upon arrival, just pick up your room key (card) and go. Drove 7 hours (to visit an Aunt who was in a nearby rehab center due to a resent stroke), arrived and still had to wait around the lobby as there were three other people there filling out paperwork registering. Desk clerk should ask if we were already registered so we would not have to wait. We finally got our key and went to our room which was on the third floor and clear down the other end of the hotel. We open the door and started in when we saw a suitcase in the room, clothes on the bed and a person in the shower with the door open. We backed out and went all the way back to the front desk. The young desk clerk was visibly shaken and embarrassed. She asked if we wanted to move on. We said no we wanted a room. She said she did not know if there were any but would check. She found a room on the second floor at the other end of the hotel. That room was OK. Heater to noisy so we turned it off. Bathroom vent did not work and steamed up the room during shower. The alarm clock on nightstand had the wrong time and I could not find how to reset it. No night light in the room to see way to bathroom in the middle of the night without turning on lights (room was pitch black). Went down to breakfast the next morning at 8:30am (breakfast was served until 9am) and all the scrambled eggs and potatoes were ready gone and both big pots of coffee were empty and no creamer had there been any coffee left. Left for the day, returning at 4:45pm and our room key would not open the door so had to go all the way back to the front desk. (Walking was difficult as I had just had a knee replacement) Asked to speak to manager. Was told that they were not there but the young girl pointed to a young man next to her (who looked like he was 18) and said he is the assistant. I told him the situation about yesterday and breakfast and now the key not working. He reset to key but said nothing about my complaint. Not even I’m sorry. I said that this was no way to run a business and went back to my room and waiting wife. The location was great. Close to I84 and the rehab center and restaurants. Hotel could be very nice, needs some TLC and staff. I never saw any staff in breakfast area.
