I have stayed at this hotel many times over the past year for business. Just minutes ago I checked in for a short 3 night stay. When I entered to lobby I was met by a far less than friendly attendant at the front desk. His demeanor was of instant irritation that I was putting him out or troubling him by just walking in the door. Once he took my ID, he asked if I was traveling with a pet. I answered “Yes, I have a trained service dog.”. The attitude became apparent that I was not welcomed at his facility. The attendant told me that it was an additional charge for my pet. I advised him that it was not a pet, she is a working, trained service animal. He than rolled his eyes at me and said, “How would you like it if I came to your job and made it hard on you?” I replied by asking him what it was that I did to warrant that response and attitude. He then proceeded to ask me for my animals training credentials and stated he needed a copy of it. I attempted to remind him that that is not allowed from him per ADA laws, but he is welcome to ask me what task she performs. His response to my statement was enragement and heightened irritation to the point I considered leaving and contacting the police. I do understand that it has become an issue with people claiming that dogs are service animals when they are not and have not had formal training. However, I have stayed here many times and have never experienced this issue. I do not feel welcomed here at this facility and will be addressing this with the property manager as well and Wyndham corporate.
