This is such a cool hotel that I fear giving it another positive review risks the "secret" getting out yet it looks like word is spreading already. This is a 5 star hotel experience, with an official "4-star designation" at a 3 star price point. The hotel has several unique features yet chief among them is this incredible window nook. There's a large raised window cut out, roughly the area of a full sized bed, a privacy shade and curtains to close behind it (so it becomes the coziest second bedroom). It's such an ingenious feature! Whether you want to read a book, take a nap, people watch or sleep up there it's wholly unique.
The hotel doesn't skimp out on small details whether it's a fine bathrobes and slippers, or firm mattresses with high thread count sheets it's a place that the designers have seemingly crafted to appeal to the most primitive part of the human mind (in the best of ways) so that upon arrival one feels a sense of "home," comfort, coziness and welcome.
It's hard to explain other than to say that this place hits all the right notes. This is by far the "bang for the buck" one can hope to find in the city and the location is equally perfect. Perhaps I am a product of my generation but I can't help but wonder if the marketing team is familiar with the 1990's pejorative "L7." Part of me wonders if the only reason this place isn't booked year round (based on their current rates and uniqueness) is that on a subconscious level people equate L7 with being a proverbial "square" (an L and 7 put together forms a square like shape). Ironically, the crown feature of this gem of a hotel is the square window nooks that double as beds. Nothing seems accidental about the design so perhaps L7 is out to prove it's "Hip to be Square" as Huey Lewis and the News would sing.
