I was really looking forward to staying here but was unfortunately very disappointed.
Both mornings we were woken up as early as 7 am by various noises.
The first day we were woken by the gardeners directly outside our window, and moments later by the sound of construction equipment. (We were not informed that there would be ongoing construction).
The second day we were woken up by music blasting from the pool PA system (located about 20 feet from our room) despite no one being at the pool that early.
At night, there was a movie playing on the lawn near our room. A second movie started around midnight. This was also blasting from the PA system.
The hotel windows are old and thus have small cracks and holes that allowed bugs in our room. Spiders, crickets, houseflies, mosquitoes.
There were no screens in the windows.
The first day the internet, TV, and in room telephone was not working. The next morning I got a hold of the front desk by calling on my mobile.
A maintenence person was sent over and when they were finished fixing the TV, phone, and internet, they told us they were going to inform the front desk about the state of the room, saying we shouldn't have had to deal with all this on vacation.
The internet went out again later that night.
The shower head was also positioned on the shortest wall of the bathroom. I'm 5' 2" and I had to crounch to use the shower. I have no idea how taller people are meant to shower in there.
The room had a faint smell of sewage the whole time. You could smell it outside as well.
We called the hotel to tell them about our horrible experience, hoping they would move us to a different room or something. They offered us a $25 credit.
My mother (who is a travel agent) was so upset by this that she insisted that she call on our behalf. They claimed that we never called them before (I guess the maintaince man appeared out of thin air).
After some arguing they offered to waive the resort fee.
We were still charged over $600 for two nights, in a bug infested room that smelled of sewage, in Palm Springs in 118 degreee weather, with no TV or internet.
It was a miserable experience.
The only nice thing I can say is the room and grounds are very cute and they were dog friendly.
