Such a sweet little thing for a relatively grand hotel. The aesthetic was lovely, and the bar-staff was phenomenal! Miss Tori was the sweetest thing- friendly and knowledgeable. I don’t recall the names of the other gals, but the owner of Mr. Grandpa kitty is well a well-crafted bartender. The other gal, I believe a manager, is also wonderfully hospitable. Dinner crew was also very nice.
Now, the breakfast crew… I have worked in the industry and have a modicum of understanding and compassion. Perhaps they were recovering from a busy morning by the time we arrived at 7:20am, who knows. In any case it should not have taken half an hour, given the whopping four tables and 3-person serving staff they had, for us to put in our our order and then not get it for another 30. Especially given the fact that we both ordered Eggs Benedict with poached eggs! Our eggs arrived cooked hard, and only a single potato (on my plate) had even been seasoned. Thankfully we had told our server that we needed to leave quickly, so our order was redone and boxed to-go without any hassle. However, over an hour and a half later, when we finally sat down again the eggs were cooked harder still! What was the point of redoing the order? I don’t know about you, but Eggs Benedict is my favorite breakfast! When I order it, and it costs nearly $20, I expect my poached eggs will be cooked correctly- with a soft, runny-ish yolk. To be entirely fair, I thought the hollandaise was exceptional! And, had my potatoes been seasoned and salted, I would rave about them, too. They were well cooked. I was disappointed, to say the least. I’m well aware that I’m a bit snobbish. If you are particular I recommend ordering something requiring less delicate attention.
