The Paso del Norte is overall a nice choice for a hotel in El Paso, but it does have negatives.
PROS:
-Great location, walkable to most downtown locations
-Easy, not-too-expensive ($26) overnight parking in the underground garage
-Large rooms
-Great spa and outdoor bar on the 10th floor
CONS:
-Decor is clearly dated, with old carpets, window shades that are tearing, etc.
-Staff is friendly but service was inattentive; two requests for additional towels went ignored
-At the price point this hotel charges, the room quality is subpar
-Water is erratic; either blasting out of the shower or barely trickling
Overall, if the price is decent, or if it's an expensed trip, I'd recommend staying here; if paying out of pocket, it's not worth the price.
