*double edit: read their response too. I don't think I need to say anything more myself. Unbelievably unprofessional. He even got my name wrong even though he has it in his system and it's written above. For the record, I was called multiple times, even though only one voicemail was left. I'd post the call log if I could. Maybe he's intoxicated.* *Hopefully final edit: they removed their reply, so thankfully the owner realized their mistake. In the removed response, they told me they felt sorry for any patient under my care. Wish I screenshot it. What an embarrassment. Frankly, I hope they don't try to find out where I'm staying instead or my exact work location. What a scary level of hostility.*
Incredibly rude clerk. Spoke to him yesterday the 22nd of April and called back again today the 23rd to cancel when I found another motel, much closer to downtown and the hospital for 2/3rds the price. I had booked for two weeks, five days before check in, and upon calling to cancel the next day was told that I was going to be charged a cancelation fee because their cancelation policy is a week out, which is way beyond the typical 24-72 hours that an inn typically uses. I was also never told or given the cancelation policy, although I am grateful that after pressing him on this I was not charged. The clerk had also fully charged my card for $1322, which I now have to wait to get refunded, whereas typically the funds for just the first night are put on hold. I used to be a night clerk myself for a wonderful private and 3rd generation family owned 160 hotel chain that I still recommend and use where I can, Drury Hotels. The only reason I left was due to the pandemic crashing the industry and everyone getting furloughed.
**they are now calling me multiple times from different numbers to "talk like adults" and get me to take down this review. This is bordering harassment. I'm sorry that you may have allegedly just had a death in the family, but as someone traveling to work in your hospital, we all have unseen hardships and we all have struggles. I just lost a friend of 20 years myself last week. I already had a bad feeling from yesterday's phone interaction, but you couldn't pay me to stay here now. Disturbing business run by at least one horrific person.
