Read MoreI spent two nights here in a suite on the 4th floor during December 2024. The timing of my stay was extremely lucky in that the first night was the annual Christmas parade down Center Street and the second night was "Dickens On Center", the town's annual Christmas party. This hotel's location right next to Center Street put me right in the perfect place to enjoy all the fun of downtown.
My suite's location overlooking Second Street was fortunate, as the noise from the nearby rail line were not very loud. I am so glad that I didn't have a room looking out to the water, as the trains going by would have been quite disturbing there. There were trains going by as early as 5:45 AM.
The employees did their jobs, but didn't go above and beyond.
I loved having a suite with a living room that was separate from the bedroom. However, there were a few maintenance issues. The toilet flushing mechanism didn't work quite like it should have. With some manual operation of the toilet lever, I could get it to flush... but it wasn't working like a normal toilet should. In a perfect world, the bathroom would have been equipped with an ADA toilet, but it was not. ADA toilets sit a bit higher so that it is easier to sit down on them or get up from them. The one this bathroom had sat uncomfortably low to the ground.
Also, the HVAC in the bedroom area did not actually work. Luckily, there was a separate set of controls for the HVAC in the living room area, which did operate correctly. So, by simply leaving the doors open between the living room and bedroom, I was able to keep the temperature pleasant in both rooms by just using the HVAC in the living room. But it was unfortunate to have to use a workaround like this to have to keep the bedroom at a comfortable temperature.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay due to the fact that the suite was so large and the hotel was located so close to all the shops, restaurants, and bars of the downtown area.
