I didn’t take any pictures during my trip last week, which is unusual for me, but I felt the need to share my experience. There were four of us staying at the Four Points by Sheraton in San Rafael, each in different areas of the hotel, and we all had similar issues with the accommodations.
- The rooms were constantly cold.
- There was a significant draft around the windows, allowing cold air to come in.
- The building is older and the insulation needs significant improvement.
- The hotel is in need of updates to bring it up to code, especially with the installation of high-efficiency windows.
- The HVAC system was extremely loud, running non-stop, and only blew warm-ish air, which did little to make the room comfortable.
Additionally, the Wi-Fi was a major hassle. We all spent more time trying to connect than actually staying connected, and I ended up using my hotspot to do my work.
The only reason I'm giving this place a one-star rating is because of the staff. The front desk team was friendly and helpful, and they provided good information about the area. However, the breakfast staff was a different story, and their service was disappointing.
As a loyal Marriott customer, I travel for work more than 85% of the year and I always prefer to stay at Marriott properties. Unfortunately, this experience has left me disappointed, and I will not be staying at this location again if I return to San Rafael. This hotel reflects poorly on the Marriott brand.
