We recently used Four Points Boston Newton for our hotel wedding block. Communication with their staff via email in the process of setting up the block was easy and fast. They kept in touch with us, updated us, and made me comfortable and happy that I was able to book with them. However, the experience when we finally arrived to the hotel was polar opposite.
First, on a positive note -- the front desk staff was wonderful. my guests reported being very happy with their abilities to accommodate some of them for early check-in.
Contrary to this, whatever staff that was responsible for the pool was rude and intimidating for little reason. We rented about 15 rooms in our block and despite being told that they would all be on the same floor, they were all scattered about the entire hotel. It was extremely disappointing. Guests in my block also came to me and complained about multiple issues with their rooms -- broken irons (when attempting to iron their suits for the wedding), 2 broken/stuck hotel doors that would not open/close, poor temperature control (wouldn't cool down enough), loud banging A/Cs in the hallway outside of rooms, lack of vending machines, among other issues. I encouraged guests to reach out to the staff with major concerns - I was unable to follow-up as it was my wedding and I was focused on getting married.
I will say that the Social restaurant/bar downstairs was amazing and took us in after our wedding until closing time. They made space for us, celebrated with us, and were very kind!
