I am generally a big fan of Marriott's hotels. I am a Platinum Elite member and only a few days from my Titanium Elite status. This stay was highly disappointed with the cleanliness of one of the three rooms we were staying in. We were there for a UCA competition at Rupp Arena. I reserved the rooms more than a month in advance. I had room 320 (a king room), 311, and 313 (connected double queen rooms).
When we arrived, the rooms appeared to be clean and well kept. Then, when we were preparing for bed, the problems were discovered. Ironically, all of the issues were in room 311, and accessible room.
First, when the comforter was turned down, there was a huge stain on the sheet. It looked as if it was from vomiting or possibly diarrhea. The stain covered 20-30% of the surface area of the sheet.
Then, the shower curtain had what I can only assume was feces on it in multiple places, and was very discolored. My wife went straight to the desk with the issues. She was told that they were very sorry but all they could do is give her new bedding and a new shower curtain. Still unhappy with the situation, knowing that we would be the ones handling whatever was on the bedding and curtain, she took the linens and came back to the room. We changed out all of the soiled linens and my daughter went to take a shower.
When my daughter was in the shower, she called out for my wife. When my wife got into the bathroom, my daughter informed her there was no body wash. My wife verified this and had to use a small cup to get some from the shower in 313. Luckily, we had connected rooms.
Overall, the stay was not the worst I've ever had, but it is the worst I can recall with a Marriott hotel.
There was no offer for housekeeping to come change the linens. There was no consolation whatsoever. I hope this was just a fluke because this is not the Marriott I have grown to love while traveling for work and family vacations.
