I was surprised by a few cons though. Charging for parking is odd when they have a whole big parking lot and it’s not downtown or anything. I saw a hot tub included in the review pics posted by the hotel and they need to take that one down. The hot tub was filled up and tiled over. Which was really disappointing. The pool was meh and the sauna took forever to get…kinda hot. It rained while we were there and the atrium leaked and they had to put all these water absorbing mats all over the lobby. DO NOT EAT AT THE RESTAURANT THERE. Worst steak of my life, I am not kidding. It was like a slightly warmed steak dripping in a weird marinade. Very bizarre and not cooked right at all…I don’t mean they got medium or well done wrong, but whoever cooked it had no idea how to cook a steak. The service was bad too. The waitress seemed like she was miserable and we were inconveniencing her just by eating there. She brought the ticket to us along with our food. Only the bar was busy too, there was just like one other table so not sure what else she had going on but it was awkward to feel like we were inconveniencing the wrong for eating there. We’re super easy too…two waters, two entrees, no special requests.
And then unfortunately our door lock battery died at some point. And we were locked out of our room for awhile. The maintenance man that came and fixed it was really nice but it still took awhile waiting for him by our door like they told us to…so nothing to do but just standing outside our room for awhile while on vacation.
They also had sales ppl outside the elevator trying to sell some deal where you had to watch a timeshare presentation but got a discounted stay deal thing. Like, ok…but pitching everyone who’s just trying to take the elevator is pesky and awkward in my opinion. Like we’re already paying to stay here, maybe just let us be?
The front desk people were nice and helpful. However given all the random annoyances we encountered I’m not sure we would stay here again. The walk to Walmart AMP is nice…but you’re paying for the parking anyways. And again, avoid the restaurant in there and just go to one of the ones nearby. Trust me, you don’t want to ruin your night.
