As a long standing Hilton Honors member, I do just about everything through the app. In this app, it suggested I purchase a $12 parking pass for a secure garage (behind the facility) that uses the key card/digital key access as there are limited spots in front. I do exactly this in the app so that my digital key will make my late night arrival seamless. Only, this is not the case. You have to go in and get a pass first. Not only this, but the garage is not behind, it’s across the street and requires a decent walk. I could have easily amended my arrival process had I been given the correct info. It added about a half hour to my check in. And with 3 kids at 9:30pm after a 12 hour drive, that is far from ideal.
I then get to the room and there’s no coffee refilled. No big deal. I’ll call the desk and get more. I said to the guy “I just got up to my room and there’s no coffee. Can I have 6 brought up please?” He proceeds to ask me what type of pod. How would I know? There’s none in here to compare? He figured it out and brought it up. He handed them and walked off. I looked and it was 3, not 6. So I opened the door and said “excuse me, I asked for 6, this is 3”. He replied “that’s all I have”. Ok….but maybe tell me that and don’t make me chase you down. The communication is absolutely pitiful.
The walls are apparently paper thin. The sound of an alarm went off at 4am, waking me and all the kids up. I’m up checking every single device to see if for some reason it’s us and it’s not. It’s coming from the wall. This went on for over 30 minutes. No reprieve. The sound was loud enough that it was still heard over the sound of a sleep podcast played loudly with soothing music attempting to drown it out. So much for a good nights rest between a 16 hour car ride.
