I stayed at the Days Inn by Wyndham Le Roy/Bloomington Southeast for 2 nights in April 2025. I also stayed here for 2 nights in 2023 though in 2024 I stayed at the nearby Pike Inn (it was a Holiday Inn Express at the time).
There are mainly two hotels in the area, the Days Inn and the Pike Inn (was a Holiday Inn Express last year and I hear they may be renovating it into a Comfort Inn in the near future). Both are actually owned by the same owner. I think both hotels are relatively on par with each other. The Pike Inn is slightly nicer but also more expensive, but the Days Inn is relatively good value for its much cheaper cost. Props to the owner for supporting local sporting events!
The room furnishings were newer and nicer than I remembered from two years ago. The bathroom and sink areas were a little more worn, but the shower had good water pressure and volume. The decor has an agricultural/farming motif. The Pike Inn has slightly nicer rooms which are more spacious, but the Days Inn is good for its cost. However, the remote control didn't work very well and the biggest problem was noise issues. The walls are a bit thin and I could hear a lot of the guests in the hallway. Of course, my room was right at the top of the stairs so I could also occasionally hear things near the lobby but since most of those guests were attending the same event I was, I was a bit more understanding.
Service was acceptable but not impressive. When I tried calling the Days Inn and also the Pike Inn the week before, it took many, many rings before the Days Inn picked up (and twice for the Pike Inn I just got a message to try again and then it hung up on me). The Days Inn doesn't have a business center or computer for guest use and the early morning employee didn't know how to use the front desk printer, so they told me to go to the Pike Inn to print something out (which was done without issue).
The Days Inn was more flexible about offering breakfast early. Although officially breakfast starts at 6 AM, they were able to provide it earlier at 5 AM. Breakfast was basic - cereal, bananas, oranges, yogurt, Jimmy Dean sandwiches you can microwave, and some morning beverages. The orange juice was really bitter though. The Pike Inn was not able to accommodate early breakfast (they begin at 6:30 AM) this year, but I recall they were able to provide it early last year.
The location is fine. There isn't much else in the area, but the hotel is located along I-74.
I think the Pike Inn has better breakfast, more spacious rooms, and there is a nicer sit-down area to eat. The Days Inn was renovating the entryway so you had to enter along the side. The other major issue is that the Days Inn has NO ELEVATOR. It wasn't a problem for me but one of my colleagues had to lug heavy luggage up and down the stairs. (The Pike Inn does have an elevator).
While I rated both of the hotels the same on Google Maps and they do have comparable Service (2 stars) and Location (3 stars), I would say that for Rooms the Days Inn is a low 2 stars while Pike Inn is an average 2 stars.
