Checked in about midnight after calling, websites said pet friendly. (FYI Pets are not allowed as I found out the next day.) When we arrived I had to go to the bathroom so I used their public one, it was really dirty (toilet paper not on the roll, toilet bowl not cleaned with stains and hairs on the seat, very dirty sink with stains but had a soap bar, square thin paper picnic napkins for drying hands).
We had a room near the (dirty and much smaller than the photos showed) pool, #132. When we walked in it smelled like smoke and dust. While staying here, my three year old saw cockroaches in the bathroom crawling into a floor pipe cover. The white towels were stained (one was stained yellow one with tan). There was one half used toilet paper roll. The fitted sheets did not fit over the mattresses, exposing dried blood on the mattress casing. The floor was not vacuumed. The coffee maker was dirty from use (with one styrofoam cup available). Having a fridge was nice, but the carpet around it had a dried up pool of gunk and dirt. The dresser and table surfaces were dirty. The lamp was stuck to the dresser from previous tenants’ messes. The shower curtain was not washed and was dirty. The table lamp’s knob was broken and could not be turned off (we unplugged it).
I wasn’t feeling well so I went to the E.R. while the fam slept. I got back at 2:45 am and went to sleep, to be woken up before 7am by a neighboring tenant physically fighting and verbally yelling at someone for several minutes. I had brought a white noise machine so after a few minutes of this I turned that on so my toddler could sleep without hearing abuse next door.
We were late to the 50th anniversary celebration of the moon landing at the space center so we headed to that as soon as we woke up. Great physical location for that, but even with “at NASA” in the name on the web, they did nothing celebratory at the hotel.
After we got back, our key card didn’t work, they wanted to tell us no pets, called me a liar and pointed to the many signs that said no pets. I apologized and asked if we should leave (they said no, but don’t do it again - which was kind of them in action).
After a few hours, our key card stopped working again.
I feel there’s no excuse for the filth we experienced and would not recommend this to anyone hygienic wanting to visit NASA.
