THE SIGN SAYS OASIS, BOCA RATON, DON'T KNOW WHAT UNIVERSITY INN IS.
By the end of my check-in, I thought I was most certainly being PUNKED. I entered to check-in at 3:51 pm. one woman at desk "being served," and one man in front of me. I had prepaid for a room with one king bed.
at 4:18 (27 minutes later), the sole desk worker, Alex, who was in-way-over-his-head, finally finished with that first lady -- after first having walked away from her a couple of times for several minute to do whatever else he was tasked with in the midst of a check-in at the start of the designated check-in time.
A couple of people had come in to wait behind me, but Alex finished with the next man in maybe 5 minutes, and then got me into a room fairly quickly as well... telling me it was right near the guest laundry I had inquired about.
I carried my bags to my designated room, but it was a two double bed room... so back I went to the desk, and in the midst of checking in the people behind me, Alex asks me what's wrong and starts dealing with me -- without a word to them, or even an "excuse me."
So he then assigns me a room a good bit further away, that he assures me has a king bed.
Maybe it did... the people already staying in that room did not let me pass the threshhold to find out.
So back to the office I go - still carrying my bags - to once again deal with Alex. EXCEPT -- HE IS NOT THERE. A sign saying he will return shortly is standing on the desk.
After 20 minutes, two more people in line behind me and one man who left... I reached out to Hotels.com -- where I booked the room -- for advice and some kind of recompense.
five minutes after that, Alex returned, a little more than an hour-and-a-half after my arrival, I was in a room unoccupied by others with a king sized bed. I then remained dealing with Hotels.com customer service as they got their people to try contacting the hotel to discuss the situation... After all of that, Hotels.com was unable to get the hotel to answer the phone or respond to e-mail, so they gave me $25 off a future hotel stay -- but seriously, this is all on a very poorly run hotel.
Later, when I went to use the coffee machine; it had been packed away still with water to the top from the last guests... and when I plugged it in, it (of course) didn't work. I called the desk and got Alex -- who surprisingly did not ask me to come get a replacement. Instead he told me he would run a replacement up to my room.
40-minutes later, when it still had not come, I decided to walk to the office and get it.
On my way, I ran into Alex walking toward my room - without a coffeemaker.
I asked him about it, and he said he was on his way to work on someone's broken TV, and he wasn't sure if I was coming to get the coffee maker. I told him that was bull, he clearly told me he would bring it - it was now 40 minutes later, and he was walking toward my room - without the coffee maker; at which point he turned around and I followed him to the office to get it.
OTHER THAN ALL OF THIS... THERE IS GREEN FUNGUS LIKE STUFF AROUND THE SHOWER NOZZLES, THEY DO NOT CLEAN THE MOLDY CLOTHE SHOWER CURTAINS BETWEEN GUESTS &&& BOTH THE LAUNDRY ROOM AND THE POOL WERE "OUT OF ORDER," OR DANGEROUS & CLOSED.
IT IS THE LEAST EXPENSIVE PLACE AROUND. PAY A LITTLE MORE IF YOU CAN, AND STAY SOMEPLACE ELSE!
