Read MoreThe treatment we received was superb. I was originally NOT going to choose this hotel specifically based on the poor reviews. Those reviews were from 2011- present though. So, I gave it a chance. We book a hotel every weekend near here as we're truck drivers, but never this one in particular. From the moment we walked in, it was like a breath of fresh air. The foyer/lobby is beautifully decorated, painted and well kept. Don't let the negative reviews fool you. We were greeted so warmly by Cindy, and was well.....catered to...perhaps, the sole focus during check-in.. It's what you'd expect from every hotel chain and it's employees but rarely receive. She kept polite conversation while checking us in without there being uncomfortable silence. You can tell she really likes her job and assisting the guests. As is not always the case in other hotels.
She gave us all pertinent info, and our keys and we were on our way. I came down later to tell her about a problem in my room so she could notate it so that when we left we wouldn't be blamed for it..I was not complaining, mind you.. just giving her a heads up. Instead of just notating it, she did one better, and gave us another room... would you believe it was an Upgraded Room??..We were floored to say the least when we transferred our belongings to the new room. It was beautiful! Clean! Modern! Spacious... Very Spacious and well... ours for 2 days!! I went back down to tell her that she didn't have to upgrade us as I was fine with the kind of room we were in already and she said "That's the least I can do for the trouble". A beautiful human being who treats her guests the way she'd want to be treated. Who understands that at times, she's a customer somewhere also.
We weren't harassed by house keeping, and there was rarely any noise from the other guests. I think I just found my new weekend retreat. Thanks Cindy for a very very pleasant stay!
