Zack Charkawi M.D. in Sandy Springs

(Long Post Alert...but worth the read!) A few months ago, I decided to consider a hairline transplant. After doing some research, I became interested in the FUT process. I was still determining where to begin, so I initially went to what I had seen for years on TV, Bosley. The consultation was excellent, but I felt too many people between me and the surgeon performing the procedure. I wanted that direct interaction to ensure I got what I wanted in my design. I went to a second, Dr. P, but it wasn’t the right fit for me, then I was referred to Dr. Zack Charkawi. From the moment I sat down with him at his desk, I knew he was the one. He took his time and thoroughly consulted with me, understanding my desires and seeing my vision. He made me feel confident in selecting him to perform my procedure. We discussed my hair goals, and he examined my head to ensure that FUT was my correct procedure. From that day on, Dr. Zack and his team worked diligently to get me scheduled and prepared. He even texted me (yes, TEXTED ME) along the way and asked that I save his number so I could communicate with him directly throughout my post-procedure. Hudson was a blessing, answering all of my questions leading up to the procedure date, ensuring my scalp and African American hair were prepped correctly, and sharing loads of knowledge with me to ensure I had the best experience. The day of my procedure was terrific. I was nervous but knew I was in good hands when I met the team. Everyone was so pleasant and kind, and Hudson came to offer his monumental support. Dr. Zack showed me all the options for my hairline design before starting the procedure, which made me even more confident that I was making the perfect choice. Once we began the procedure, Dr. Zack and his team supported me so much that it felt surreal. Everyone did their part to make sure I was overly comfortable. We breezed through the donor site removal effortlessly. I was told that FUT was a lengthy procedure, so I assumed it would be daunting, but it wasn’t. They supplied me with a lunch of my choice while preparing my graphs, and we moved to the recipient area prep when I was ready. Although Dr. Zack was making tiny slits in my hairline (I received 2000 graphs), I was so comfortable that I could barely stay awake. When I opened my eyes again, they were ready for graph insertion. Dr. Zack and his team never left my side through the entire process, checking on me at every step and ensuring I was comfortable. After going in and out of sleep, my procedure was complete. It seemed to happen so swiftly as I slept; I inquired if they had completed the middle portion, and they replied that they had actually started in the middle (lol). After, I was AOK, but the staff was overly cautious, ensuring I did not have to lift a finger to do anything. They cared for me like family; now, I consider them part of my family. I could not have made a better decision. This was the best surgical experience I have ever had - TOP TIER SERVICE! Following my procedure, Dr. Zack and Hudson have continued to check on me daily, assisting me at every step to ensure I have the best results and minimum scarring, even telling me the exact products to use. Being told to wash the donor site and graphs post-procedure was highly intimidating, but having Dr. Zack and Hudson made it easy. I am one-week post-surgery and feel back to normal. I had no complications or issues, and my discomfort has been minimal. The placement of my hairline looks stupendous (I even got a widow’s peak I always wanted), and I am eager to see the results. This practice is terrific. Dr. Charkawi combines expertise and a willingness to listen and discuss. He is incredible. Not only has he taken great care of my health, but also he is enjoyable to talk with at every appointment. It’s rare to find a doctor that combines such personal touches and care for a patient as a person with outstanding quality of medical care.

Honestly the best doctor's visit I've ever had! I was brought in at the time that I was scheduled and barely waited to be seen. Dr. Charwaki took the time to go over all of my concerns and did not make me feel rushed in the slightest. I haven't had an annual physical exam in a really long time and thought I might be judged, but he was so compassionate and really listened to all of my issues and offered insight into all of them. You can tell he really cares about his patients! The nurse/medical assistant was also the sweetest! I'm not very good about drawing blood and she did her best to make me feel at ease and checked up on me periodically to make sure I was okay, as well as Dr. Charkawi! Overall, I am very impressed with his knowlege, bedside manner and compassion and cannot recommend him highly enough!

Dr. Charkawi is a great doctor. He listens to your concerns and provides excellent care. I've been a patient for almost 10 years. Great, friendly staff and you get seen on time which is important. I highly recommend the practice if you are looking for excellent care. Hope this helps! Good luck!

I've been going to D. Charkawi for about 7 years now and I can honestly say Dr. Zach is the best doctors I have ever had. He is extremely professional and takes the time to discuss issues thoroughly with you. Staff has always been great too. I highly recommend Dr. Zach!

Dr. Zack Charkawi is a professional, caring & knowledgeable physician who has established my trust as a patient for several years. I never feel rushed, as Dr. Charkawi consistently provides quality time and insightful feedback during my visits. I would highly recommend Dr. Charkawi! One of the best!

Not sure if the day I went was an off day, but I went based on the good google reviews and from a recommendation from a friend. My appointment was at 11:30 and I was seen at 12:00. Wait wasn't long considering I had to fill out new patient info. The annoying part was that they charge you $20 for in-house lab work or suggest you can make an appointment with Labcorp (covered by your insurance and no charge). This wouldn't have been an issue normally, but there was no mention of this until I showed up for my appointment, having already fasted and there were obviously no appointments available same-day (other than 4 pm and no I don't want to fast till 4pm) at Labcorp. I'm frustrated with this experience because when I called to make an appointment saying I needed to get blood work done, the office assistant didn't mention this at all and leaving me no choice but having to either get it done in office or another day. Then, when I decided to do in-house lab work, Dr. Charkawi told me that all the nurses were on lunch break and I'd have to wait until 1 to get my blood drawn. My appointment with Dr. Charkawi was very quick as well and it didn't really seem like he was addressing any of my concerns and he didn't explain anything during the check-up. Additionally, didn't really feel like much of a check-up. Again, not sure if this was just a bad day, but having an appointment at 11:30 and leaving the office at ~1pm is pretty frustrating. The only positive thing I felt after the appointment was that my nurse was kind and got my blood drawn quickly, also came back from her lunch break at 12:45 so I didn't have to wait until 1 to get my blood drawn. Overall, might have just been an off-day, but would not recommend and will not be going here again.

My husband and me, we have both middle age crisis. Dr. Zack was lisning very carefully our concern. And he explained every our questions. Also we were very impressed his knowledge which he has very wide of medical field. We are super excited to find a such excellent doctor and recommend close friends and our family. Had a new patient appointment. Dr Charkawi spent time to get to know me and my health issies. He referred me to 2 specialists to address a few concerns. Dr Zack has a good bedside manner and I am glad to have found him being new to Georgia.
