I have to be honest, I was extremely nervous for my first appointment. A severe migraine brought me to the ER and referred me. I'm actually thankful that I was. For years I received the runaround for my migraines! This was the first time in my life I felt like I was actually being listened to. We ruled out any potential of something serious, and then Dr. Wheeler went straight to, "Let's get you feeling better." I cried from relief of after suffering for years I might be able to live a "normal" life.
Fast forward to my follow-up 6 weeks later. I have still had a few migraines, but I went in talking to them and again I felt listened to.
So many times in healthcare today, patients feel like we are rushed in, forced to wait forever, and then second to their charting and typing as we are talked to. When Dr. Wheeler comes in, he obviously has a computer to look at your chart, enter orders in on the spot, etc. However, he has ALWAYS lowered or closed his computer while we were talking. Again, this place is a 10/10+
