I need to RAVE about the staff in the labor and delivery department at Wilson Medical. I was really skeptical on delivering here because people only write bad reviews, but everything, and I mean everything, was 10/10 above and beyond. Giving my full story to ease the worries for any other ladies having babies soon! This was my first baby, I was being induced and had no idea what to expect. When we entered through the Emergency department we were immediately checked in and sent to L&D where we were greeted by the staff who was assigned to me. We got settled in our room, the nurses made sure I was comfortable, and we were hooked up to monitor baby & mamas heart rate/vitals. Once the staff made sure I was settled, we went over every single detail and option that was available to me for my induction. The nurses made sure I was educated on all steps, knew exactly what to expect, and answered any questions myself or my husband had. Once we knew the plan, we began the induction. Throughout the whole induction and birthing process I was always made aware of any changes, and reminded of what the next step was (as far as medicine, dilation, etc). My labor and delivery team was top notch, especially Dr. Almeida (who was my OB through the whole process and was excellent every step of the way). Everyone who entered the room introduced themselves so I knew exactly who was in the room. After a smooth delivery, we were transferred to our postpartum room where again, we were settled and all nurses made sure we were comfortable. Throughout my stay every person I interacted with was attentive and understanding about my needs and concerns. The nursery staff was fabulous for taking the baby for a few hours each night so we could get some sleep. The lactation consultants were so amazing when I called asking for help with breastfeeding. The L&D director, Amy, even made her rounds to make sure we were comfortable and if there was anything they could do to help. Overall, I was extremely pleased with my entire experience with Wilson Medical, and felt that myself and my baby were a top priority throughout our stay. I would and probably will choose them again for round 2 (whenever that time comes!). But, I hope this eases the minds of new moms who are hesitant on choosing to deliver at Wilson Medical. It really wad an amazing experience, and them made it that much better!
*The only complaint I do have would be the lack of guidance that we received when it came to knowing what to do/how to obtain my baby’s birth certificate. We filled out a paper that ended up being processed incorrectly (wrong birthdate, names spelled wrong, etc), but when we asked the gentleman who brought it where we go to get it or how that process works, he didn’t give us an answer and just said “I’m not really sure.” So that wasn’t fun coming home and googling how to resolve an issue on the paper, and where to go/how to get my daughters birth certificate.*
