As a medical provider myself, I always try to minimize my issues when I go to the doctor. I try to "fix" problems holistically, doing research and trying everything I can before I go in to see my PCP. I know how exhausting it is to have patients all day with so many complications, family situations and emotional distresses.
When I do down play my mild humors, "like it's not a big deal", Dr. Yan asks me questions about them. He seems sincere and wants me to expand on what I'm feeling. Which makes me feel like its actually okay to expand on my concerns. He's curious, informed but humble. He seems to want to understand what I'm going through. I have only had wonderful care with him, I highly recommend him as PCP that sees the whole person instead of 15 minute timeslot.
