The patience and kindness shown from the hygienist and dentist today could not be matched.. it’s not as common anymore that you go somewhere and get the feeling that the ones working there truly care about your child as a person and not just the next patient. My son has a lot of anxiety with doctors/dentists. Last visit he got so worked up we ended up with throw up all over us (not their fault). Today we walked in with him in tears and scared. When we got to the back the hygienist took the time to talk to him and make him comfortable before doing anything. That extra effort went a long way. He willingly made it through his whole appointment.. x rays and all this time! He got a balloon, a sticker, some coins for prizes which the hygienist helped him open and put on his shoes (he got a couple croc charms). And then the dentist during that time talked to me about any concerns with the x rays and showed me comparison x rays for better understanding. Thank you, thank you, thank you for everything. I’m hoping this memory will stick with him and he no longer has to be in fear before we even leave the house knowing it’s appointment day next time.
