Read MoreI reserved writing this review until after my SECOND visit to this spa. My first visit was not so great; it was a 30-minute massage and it was the most painful, uncomfortable massage I’ve ever experienced! The therapist (whose identity I’ll protect) did address my primary area of concern, which was an extremely stiff neck and tense shoulders but I paid a heavy price. The level of pressure was excruciating, the cupping was torturous; I outwardly expressed discomfort and the therapist kept advising me to “exhale and breathe” through it. I began to think maybe I was being a baby, so I toughed it out. But later that evening, my neck and back began to hurt horribly, so bad I could not sit back on the sofa or sleep comfortably! I couldn’t even dry by back with a towel after a shower without pain. My boyfriend saw my back and freaked out. There were bruises everywhere. I’d read that cupping can leave marks, but not all the bruising was from the cupping and that’s not where it hurt. It took three days for the pain to subside and five days for the bruises to clear.I decided to give the spa one more chance but this time I did more research and read each therapist’s profiles. I chose Carrie based on what I read and I am so grateful. Carrie is the GOAT!! After telling her about my previous experience, she listened intently and provided information to help me understand how the process works. She was open and honest. Her energy is calming and compassionate. Carrie has heavenly hands; hers was the BEST MASSAGE I EVER HAD! She has a courteous consideration for detail, asks appropriate questions, and is a wealth of knowledge. Without pain or discomfort, Carrie carefully worked out the tension in the muscles of my neck and shoulders (which had returned since my last session two weeks prior). I will DEFINITELY be returning to have Carrie service me again!
