Van is a small town, and there really aren’t many options for places to get a mani/pedi (the only service I’ve received) unless I drive outside of Van into a surrounding bigger town — which I am going forward.
The lady sitting towards the front next to the register is one that I’ve had service me a couple of times and I’ve always felt slight aggression from her. When she was giving my mani this last time, it was a rougher than normal experience lol I thought I was doing gang signs the way she was manipulating my fingers 😂 I literally had to stop and point that out.
1. She pulls her tools from out of a tiny plastic bin, I’m assuming these aren’t sanitized after each customer? I’m used to the technicians open the tools from a sterile bag. Never seen any sterilization station/equipment
2. I’m also used to the pedi bins be covered with a sterile liner covers. I guess that’s not a thing, I’m sure they’re clean… BUT…
Brings me to the prices. If these prices are as high as they are, why is everything so outdated? I paid the same price for the same service in San Antonio (which is where I’m from).
If I’m going to pay these high prices in this small town and I’m not getting the best service, if I don’t see anything brought up to date as far as sterilization and semi nicer salon equipment I’m taking my business to Lindale, even Tyler!
Side note: the lady doing my pedi was super nice this last time, so thank you for the nice pedicure experience to her. I’m sorry I didn’t catch her name.
UPDATE: It’s by appointment ONLY. Maybe this is why she is always in a bad mood when I show up without one. If this was a nicer salon, with better services… I’d call ahead, but this outdated place with high prices???
